Some shout-outs

To Brian, for the beautiful bracelet I'm wearing right now, with Emma's name and a turtle in honor of my Nanny. It's perfect and I really needed that lift today!

To Mom, who is helping out with the baby prep in all kinds of ways!

To my bestest friend Ginger, who threw me a fun, wonderful shower this week and hasn't yet tired of the "I want my baby NOW" whining!

To my dear friend Sue, who so totally did NOT need to give us a baby present on top of the adoption help. She rocks!

To my boss and colleagues, who gave me a surprise shower week before last and made my day!

We leave in 2 1/2 weeks to get Emma. It's gonna be crazy between now and then, so there may not be any updates here for a while. We will be updating the China Dreaming site from China, so feel free to follow our travels there!

Whirlwind

The semester is over! Now maybe I'll have time to get things at work ready for me to be gone for 3 months. We still don't have travel dates but it looks like June. We've gotten visas, figured out flight plans, and started preparing for the trip. Trying to get a lot done around the house. And it's only gonna get crazier! I got lots of "Happy Mother's Day"s yesterday, it was really cool. And a present and card from Brian. :) I only got teary-eyed once that my daughter is halfway around the world.

Saturday was the North Carolina Clogging Association convention in Raleigh. Thanks to graduation I didn't make it up there til the last workshop session of the day, but it was a good one. The main reason for me going was that we were performing Devil in the big show Saturday night. It wasn't quite as good as in Gatlinburg, but I doubt it ever will be! We had a great time anyway. One of our teenagers made the state all-star group and got to dance with them in the show, and Ginger taught a workshop session and did a number in the show with the rest of the instructors. Oh, if only I could be a professional clogger! And yes, I know, this seems to be turning into the clog blog. Hmm, catchy, maybe I'll add that to the name.
