Repeat after me...just a little bit closer
Today the countdown begins in earnest. I'm writing this at 10 of 9 on Tuesday. By this time next week, we'll be dropping Jack at the kennel on our way to the airport. We're pressing the last of the work on the house just as hard as we can -- a little caulk, a little paint, and a few screws and we'll be done with that.
Packing, which is just about as extensive as I can imagine for such a short (relatively) trip, is nearly done. The electronics and camera gear are together. Our tickets are purchased and confirmed. Our hotel reservations are (we hope) made. All that remains is the CAWLI travel meeting, and one more big check to the agency to cover in-China travel.
Almost there, Emma. Hang tight, little one...there is quite literally a whole world ahead of you to explore. We'll be there soon to help you find your way home.
