Listen like thieves
Kristen and Joe got The Call™ today. A baby girl named Manzhen Yu. She's 8 months old, from Sichuan Province.
Cool.
The reason our entire DTC group is now playing the "listen like thieves" game is because apparently the CCAA only sent referrals for the first week of September DTC folks. That's bad news. If the Center doesn't send another group of referrals this month (which is widely regarded as unlikely), it means the rest of September DTC referrals will be pushed back to April -- which is when October DTC folks had been hoping to receive our referrals.
Bummer.
So now it's a game of listen and hope. Me, I'm just keeping my head down and my nose to the grindstone. If I look up for even a minute, I'll see something that gives me false hope. If I stop working or otherwise occupying my mind for a split second, it fills with "what ifs" that I have no hope of answering.
It's enough to drive you nuts, and it'd be easy to go that road. But the key really is "all in your hands." Play it cool, keep working, and let it happen.
At least, that's what I keep telling myself.
