Emma's Room
Well, it's essentially done. Emma's room, or nursery, or whatever you want to call it, is basically finished. Not bad for a room put together using almost entirely recycled stuff!
The walls are Pooh Yellow and somethingorotherblue from the Disney Classic Pooh collection. The clouds are Behr Ultra Pure White sponged onto the wall. The border strip is a Classic Pooh pattern, and most of the Pooh stuff you see in the room was either a gift at Lara's shower, or given to us by her cousin Makenzie and Makenzie's husband Danny.
The bed and chest of drawers were Wai Fu Benton's, and the wicker dresser/changing table came from Zeng Wai Gong Butler. And the little bookcase is a story, too. Lara had that in her room, sans the big stuffed dinosaur, from the time she was a child. It was any of several colors over the years.
When Brian graduated college, he got it to use in his apartment. He took it out on the deck, stripped it to the bare wood, disassembled it, and rebuilt it with wood screws and glue, patching up a few defects that had appeared over time. It was splatter-painted and given to Lara as a Christmas gift. Zu Mu Edmonds made the dinosaur. Now it will be Emmas, although we're probably going to replace the dinosaurs with Poohbears.
Everything has a fresh coat of paint, courtesy of Wai Fu Dukes, and the neat, colorful knobs did, too. The Poohbear rug on the floor came from Zu Mu Little.
The clock has Emma's name on it, and was a gift from Wai Po Dukes. And what's in the corner you can't see? Well, nothing at the moment. But Zu Fu Little is working on a red oak crib for her, about like Kyra's.
All is in readiness, little one. It's only you we lack. We'll see you soon.
