Nail-biting time
This is when the waiting is worst.
The latest round of referrals for CAWLI just came in. A group of girls 7-9 months, and one 18-month-old boy. Two couples have apparently encountered a delay due to medical issues with the kids, but on the whole, things are still running about six months. This means that Joe & Kristen are expecting their referral next month.
Kristen is about to explode, I think. Not that I blame her.
We're expecting to be right behind her, on track for early April. Between now and then, there's still a thumping load of stuff to be done on the house and Emma's room, a bunch of paperwork to complete, and travel arrangments to be made. I feel like I need Microsoft Project just for this. Yech. :P
On the plus side, we recently acquired a ton of Pooh baby-room accountrements (thanks Makenzie!), and Lara and Lynn are set to start painting this coming weekend. Our registry at Target is nearly together, we have our packing list at least partly together, and the paperwork is about to be organized. So things are coming together slowly, building up a head of steam that's just going to blow up in an absolute frenzy of activity that will last, starting from the referral date, for about three months before things settle down to what will become the new "normal."
