One down, two to go

The last four days have been an absolute whirlwind of activity. Walls have been painted, the house cleaned from top to bottom, floors scrubbed, grass trimmed -- pretty much anything that can can be cleaned has. All this in preparation for our initial meeting with Sara McKee, our social worker.

The meeting was today, and lasted for about three hours. We spent a lot of time talking about our motivations for adoption, our thoughts on child rearing and discipline, our families, our interests...in short, All About Us™. We don't want to jinx things, but we think it went well.

Our second meeting is next Saturday, and then there'll be a third, plus a phone call, and the home study is complete.

At the moment, though, I'm in real danger of collapse. It's been late nights for me since Wednesday, and the whole nine yards has suddenly started to take its toll. Now that I can relax, I'm about to go comatose for a few hours. :)

Started reading a few adoption-related books, which I'll comment more on later.
